Description
This Steak Fried Rice is a savory, satisfying dish loaded with tender steak, vegetables, and fluffy rice all stir-fried in a flavorful soy-based sauce. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for using up leftovers or creating a restaurant-style meal at home.
Ingredients
1 lb steak (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced
3 cups cooked, cooled white rice (preferably day-old)
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup frozen peas and carrots
3 green onions, chopped
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
1 tsp sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnishes:
Extra green onions
Sesame seeds
Sriracha or chili flakes for heat
Instructions
1 Cook the Steak
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat
Add sliced steak, season with salt and pepper, and sear until browned and cooked to your liking
Remove from pan and set aside
2 Scramble the Eggs
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed
Pour in beaten eggs and scramble until just set
Push eggs to the side of the pan
3 Stir-Fry the Vegetables and Rice
Add remaining oil and toss in garlic, peas, carrots, and green onions
Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until veggies are tender
Add the cooked rice and break up any clumps, mixing well with the veggies and eggs
4 Season and Combine
Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil
Return the cooked steak to the pan and stir everything together until heated through
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed
5 Serve
Garnish with extra green onions, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of sriracha if desired
Serve hot and enjoy
Notes
Best made with cold, day-old rice for ideal texture
Swap steak with chicken, shrimp, or tofu for variation
