Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 package (25 oz) frozen or fresh cheese ravioli
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1 Prepare the Meat Sauce Cook the ground beef or Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes
2 Prepare the Cheese Mixture In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined
3 Assemble the Casserole Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the dish Arrange half of the ravioli in a single layer over the sauce Spread half of the cheese mixture over the ravioli, then add another layer of meat sauce Repeat layers with remaining ravioli, cheese mixture, and meat sauce Sprinkle the top with the remaining mozzarella cheese
4 Bake the Casserole Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly Let cool for 10 minutes before serving
