Description
This Applesauce Cake is a moist, warmly spiced dessert that’s easy to make and perfect for cozy gatherings. Sweetened with applesauce and flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, it’s delicious on its own or topped with cream cheese frosting.

Instructions
1 Cream the Butter and Sugars
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
2 Mix Wet Ingredients
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each
Stir in vanilla extract and applesauce until well combined
3 Add Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves (if using), and salt
Gradually add dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined
Fold in walnuts or raisins if using
4 Bake the Cake
Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Let cool completely before frosting or dusting with powdered sugar
5 Serve
Slice and enjoy plain or topped with cream cheese frosting for extra richness

For a dairy-free version, use oil instead of butter
